Not a poor Swazi woman but a precious daughter in the Kingdom of God.
As I think about this title the more it rings true in my heart. Not that we as Americans are holy, powerful, or greater than others, but that is what we all think.
I was saying goodbye today to a little girl and her sister that I have been ministering to in the hospital and I brought in my camera to get a photo of them and with them. When I was taking one of the pictures the woman turned to me and said, “You are going to publish this and it will be titled ‘poor swazi woman'”. I was so taken away by this comment! But there was something about it that strung so true in my heart.
We are always the ones saying that we need to go and help this country or change this government because it is not like ours. But who are we to say that we are better than others and to put ourselves upon a pedestal to the rest of the world. We need to come to the realization that we are equal. We have the same God, came from the same place, and we all need each other sometimes. Don’t put yourself up on a pedestal today because someone might need you to just be there for them, to be equal not higher.
Thank you and blessings upon you,
Kevin
My Swazi Friend and Me
What a precious child of God!! She is so beautiful. No, you’re so right, not a poor swazi woman, but a beautiful child of God, we are all so equal.
That is so beautiful!
Much Love,
Heather Chester
PS as I reread my post, I realized I said beautiful 3 times….I bet that doesn’t surprise you. I haven’t changed too much while you’ve been gone. haha.
Kevin this is so wonderful, what a precious child of God. I’m so happy I can’t even describe. This is Just so Amazing!

Kevin,
It is unreal at what you have done and accomplished thru this journey and will continue to do. You seem at peace and happy with it all. It is an amazining picture and shows the real you. I pray for you, your team and all the lives you have touched and will touch.
Love you,
Auntie Bren
Kevin,
She is beautiful! Not a poor Swazi woman, but an amazing and lovely daughter of the Most High God. ๐
Thank you for the wisdom and for the insight! I think all of us here in America can use a good dose of humility. Our lives as Christians should be marked by a humble spirit, but I know for myself my life is often anything BUT humble! ๐
Love the picture of you! Thanks for the email updates – praying for you unceasingly!
Job 42:2: “I know You can do all things; no plan of Yours can be thwarted.”
With love and blessings,

Kevin,
I think its amazing that thewoman in the picture thinks that Americans think like this. It just shows what the rest of the world thinks about us. She is right. Most of us realize they are from a poor country and would probably take pity on them. I love that she said that to you. It puts us in our place. I think she is very beautiful and she looks very happy. I can also see that the hospital is dated. When I was about 5 years old, I was in the hospital here and I had a bed that looks just like the one in the background of your picture. It was a white iron crib. That was in the 1950s. It makes me think back to a simpler time in my life when things were better without all this modern technology. People were friendlier then and closer. Maybe thats why people in Swaziland are so friendly. Anyway take care and God Bless you and your friends. Love Auntie Mia
My Dear Sweet Thulani~
Oh how I miss you more each day. You look awesome, and I feel that your spirit is so high & lifted. Your friend is a beautiful and very smart person, to know what Americans in general would be thinking. Shame on us! You must tell her that all Americans do not judge, some of us have learned the hard way, but I for one will not judge again. I had to laugh about your name, I out of anyone no that you are not a quiet soul. I have noticed however, since you’ve been in Swazi how much you have grown. I am so proud of the man that you have become; you seem so much more patient, and yes I do believe that you now stop and listen, you going to Swazi has been an uplifting blessing. I trust that you will go back there some day, probably sooner than later; and as much as I miss you when you are gone, you have my blessing my darling son, I am truly so very proud of you.
I love you with all my heart and soul!
Forever keep up the amazing flight!!
Love Mom
