Take a good look at the food that is eaten in one week and how much is spent…

Italy: The Manzo family
of Sicily
Food for one week:214.36 Euros or $260.11

United States: The Revis Family of North Carolina

Food for one week $341.98

Germany: The Melander family of Bargteheide

Food for one week: 375.39 Euros or $500.07

Chad: The Aboubakar family of Breidjing Camp

Food expenditure for one week: 685 CFA Francs or $1.23

If the family in Germany didn’t eat for ONE week, the family in Chad could eat for 6 years….

  1. So when I first started looking at these pictures…I’m not going to lie it made me want to walk over to my kitchen pantry and find some cheez-its or something and veg out. Its hard to grasp that there are people in this world who live differently than me. Not only do I not appreciate the food that I eat, I utterly take for granted the easy outlets I have to water, air condition, unexpired milk, and food. In America most of us live like Kings and Queens compared to those in Chad, or Zimbabwe, or India! Its ironic tho, when I was in Zimbabwe I had never met a group of people who were more hungry for God than the poor, homeless, orphaned citizens of Zimbabwe. They truly relied on God for their every need. So where they may be physically hungry….are we spiritually Hungry? I may be able to give them food, but could they give me a lesson on loving, and trusting God. That I’m sure of. These pictures make me feel ashamed….
How can I help people in need…in this case, and in every case only through God!

  2. Heart Renching…Once again we are so blessed here. We are truly so blessed to know our Father the way we do. I may not be able to bring a lot of money to the starving countries (like Chad) but I can bring hope. Hope that their REAL riches are in Heaven waiting for them. Hope that they can have eternal life. Hope that they can know a God who is their substainer and strong tower! The cry of my heart is that I will be a hope carrier! That I/we will carry hope to the nations. To be a love carrier, to show these families true love! To show our lost and broken world the love that will not let them down! I believe this picture is symbolic in the sense that this family from Chad symbolizes our whole world. Our world is hungry for something but they do not know what they are hungry for. They turn to drugs, alcohol, pornography, sex, relationships, money, fame, acceptance. All of these lovers will let them down and leave them empty! There is only one lover that will not let us down, that is our Heavenly Father in Heaven. God shows love because God IS love! GOD IS LOVE! Let God move in us a new way each and every day. Let the Lord break your heart as His has broken for these starving countries (physical and spiritual) So we will be able to bring light, hope, and most importantly love to all the nations for the glory of the Lord! God is love, Love is everything, God is evrything!

May blessings pour upon your life!
